Dr. Sauerburger founded our practice in 1980. In 1995 he designed an innovative device for cataract surgery, the Sauerburger I/A Tip. In 1998 he performed Southern Maryland Hospitals first double lens implant surgery. Dr. Sauerburger was voted one of Washingtonian Magazine Top Doctors in Ophthalmology in 1991,1993,1995,2002 and 2005.
